Castons undertakes all health and safety duties through our associated organisation CCAS Ltd headed by Martin Allen (contact: 01473 212 535).

CCAS was established by Castons in 1995 specifically to address the requirements of the CDM regulations and the provision of planning supervisor services. Since then the company has expanded through its employment of specialist trained and qualified staff into providing a wide range of health and safety services including display screen assessments. Construction industry clients who appreciate their obligations to provide safe working and who care about providing a proper working environment during the construction process and in occupation understand the benefit to be gained from employing qualified health and safety advisors.

CDM Co-ordinator

Since inception CCAS has been appointed as CDM co-ordinator on over 750 projects with a construction value in excess of £225M. CCAS ensures that client's legal obligations are fully met and they endeavour to provide a comprehensive service that is significantly above the minimum level required by the CDM Regulations.

Specialist Health & Safety

CCAS also undertakes Display Screen Equipment assessments with written reports for employers conscious of the risks to staff from complaints such as repetitive strain injury. CCAS have completed several thousand of these assessments and are able to do so at a very cost effective rate via their specially trained assessors.

Having demonstrated their professional approach and depth of understanding of health and safety matters CCAS are also appointed as expert witness on behalf of Health & Safety Executive.
